10/1/2002 - We've added a minor, but extremely convenient new function to building sets. When you edit your set, you will now notice at the top of the list of slots in the set, a line of text that says: New: Automatically Build Best Set from your already-registered coins.

9/1/2002 - Our intention for the Certified Registry (CR) has been to develop a system that could adapt itself for the good of the numismatic community. Toward that end we have improved and expanded it on an ongoing basis.

9/1/2002 - Effective September 16, NGC will offer its new grading tier Specialty Gold. Submit your $1 Gold, $2.5 Gold, $3 Gold, $5 Indians and all better date US Gold valued at $1,000 or less per coin for just $24 (Collectors Society/ANA member pricing).
